With our daily lives becoming increasingly busier, our health can sometimes get away from us. We start to overindulge, not exercise as regularly as we should and before we know it our health starts to deteriorate.
At AFS Friendly Pharmacy we understand that getting your health back on track is important and we offer a FREE 20 minute private consultation to review your overall health and provide advice on how you can improve it.
Our health checks are designed to identify early warning signs and help you remain fit, happy and healthy. Upon completion, your local Friendlies pharmacist will provide you with a comprehensive report containing your results as well as advice on lifestyle changes that could help improve your health.
Why is a Health Check Important?
Conducting regular health checks are very important to ensuring early detection of serious diseases and conditions that could have a major impact on your life. In Australia, chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes, some cancers and respiratory conditions are the leading causes of ill health, disability and even death. Yet all of these are largely preventable if detected early and lifestyle changes are made. At AFS Friendly Pharmacy we're committed to looking after your health and helping prevent the likelihood of you being impacted by one of these diseases.
What happens at the Health Check?
As part of our 20 minute private consultation, our pharmacist will ask you a series of questions about your health, family history, lifestyle, diet and exercise habits. A series of tests will then be conducted to measure your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood glucose, height, weight and waist circumference. Using all of the information collected, our pharmacist will then assess your risk of developing health problems such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease and provide you with advice on how you can improve your health, wellbeing and lifestyle. At the completion of your appointment, you will receive a report with all of your results.
